Business Situation
The LAPD includes a primary group of approximately 30 recruiters who oversee recruitment efforts. Recruitment Events Division (RED) Staff proactively recruit the most qualified and diverse leads. They educate, assist, and motivate leads by building connections and relationships with the community. Recruiters will host events displayed in the myPD portal for prospective candidates to register for and/or attend at will. The objective for the solution is to increase lead generation and collect high quality, basic information from prospects at recruiting events. The solution needed to digitize canvassing efforts and assist in management and approval of recruitment events and initiatives while providing insight into return on investment (ROI) in a unified system where supervisors and recruiters can report on their metrics.
Solution
The Recruitment Events Management System gives recruiters and supervisors the ability to streamline their recruitment proposal process and gives recruitment staff a 360-degree view of their activities and ROI for recruitment initiatives. The system connects the RED staff with the Leads Generation and Management system. The Recruitment Events system digitizes the management of internal processes related to the drafting of events or seminars, assigning personnel, managing categories and target markets with a focus on diversity, allowing staff to seamlessly navigate through the proposal and approval process of scheduling events. Recruitment Division Supervisors can review active events in a single system of record and report on individual recruiters’ time and activities against an event, related expenses or budget including the generation of leads per recruiter per event, to understand where efforts should be applied based on outcomes. This advanced set of dashboards and reporting allows for a birds-eye view of active and historical events and the rate of turnover in quality leads entering the system to determine what recruitment actions are the most impactful. The solution also includes a location address book entity (table) with associated contact lists that ensures locations are managed and updated without duplication. The Recruitment Events solution allows for forms to be customized based on the departments’ current processes while allowing for expansion for more accurate real-time measurements on recruitment-related needs. Recruitment event calendars can be exposed on the candidate portal and leads that are generated via these events can be associated to the event and their designated recruiter. Recruitment and hiring division management can seamlessly track their leads acquired at events, in a “single source of truth” system as leads transition from lead to applicant to candidate onto the Academy.
