Business Situation
The LAPD Personnel Division wanted to implement an HR and Transfer Order module that begins with Aeon Nexus’ myPD Candidate Application Process and tracks employees throughout their careers at LAPD. This module allows for the management of initial placement requests of Academy graduates, the subsequent transfer requests to each of the 21 geographic divisions of the LAPD, as well as pay grade changes and promotions.
Solution
The HR module tracks current and historical information for all employees at LAPD, allowing the Personnel Division to get a 360-degree view of every employee’s time in the department. The Personnel Application utilizes dashboards to visualize employees through various processes such as military leave, attrition, and loan assignments. The Transfer Order module allows for both sworn and civilian employees at LAPD to utilize PowerApps Portals, where they can review their current placement and submit requests to transfer to different divisions. The Personnel Division and Command Staff are then able to access these requests through multiple dashboards on their respective applications and move the requests through the various stages of the approval process. Additionally, automated workflows allow for a smooth transition in transferring employees from Academy, through Field Training, and into subsequent roles throughout their careers. As well as the many dashboards accessible to Personnel, SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) Reports offer users easy access to data filtered to their specifications, and foster an orderly, fair, and transparent transfer process.
